Motorists are facing rush hour chaos this evening after a vehicle fire on the A249 in Detling.

One lane is currently closed on the northbound stretch between Jade's Crossing and the entrance to Kent Showground to allow for emergency drainage cleansing works.

Drivers are advised to approach with caution and expect delays.

South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
