A KEBAB shop worker has spoken of his fears of working night shifts after he was racially abused and spat at.
Asir Keser, 34, was subjected to the attack by Kailey Page, of Dryland Road, Snodland, last October, who shoved a doner kebab into his face and spat at him when told he would not get a free kebab.
According to Mr Keser, Page had gone into the shop and bought a kebab, which he then dropped outside on the pavement. He went back into the shop, Atilla Kebab House, in Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone, and demanded another one.
When Mr Keser refused, Page went outside and picked up the kebab. He went back into the shop, leaned over the counter, and shoved it in Mr Keser's face. He then spat in his face and hurled a stream of abuse at Mr Keser before walking out. Another customer telephoned the police.
Mr Keser said: "It was very scary. If there had not been a counter between us I don't know what would have happened.
"It is a dangerous job. This sort of thing happens all the time, and I am often scared when I am working at night."
Page was found guilty of racially aggravated common assault by magistrates and remanded on conditional bail to appear before Maidstone Magistrates' Court on May 23 for sentencing.
Page was unavailable for comment.
