Maidstone is waking up to a new voice on kmfm.

New breakfast show host Andy Walker started this morning, and is promising to make his show "live, local and fun".

Andy is already a well-known voice across Kent, having spent eight years with Invicta FM.

His last few years there were spent presenting the afternoon show, so the early mornings may come as a bit of a culture shock.

"I'll be getting up at 5am for a 7am start on the radio," he said.

Andy has been in radio for 10 years, and says he never wanted to do anything else.

He said: “There’s a great buzz in being able to connect directly with your listeners. Whether that is through playing them a new song, a classic, and touching on nostalgia or talking about something that relates to all our lives.”
