Police have issued a warning about fraudsters claiming to be from a computer software company.
It is reported that men and women have been calling residents in Coxheath and Loose to request payment to fix a broken computer.
In order to pay this money the victim is told to go to the Post Office and transfer funds into a bank account.
Computer firms warn that they do not send unsolicited emails or phone calls requesting personal or financial information, or to fix your computer.
Police advise that if you are sceptical of a call you are receiving, end the conversation and do not give out your personal information.
A spokesman said: "If you believe the call may have been genuine you can contact the organisation the caller is reporting to be from.
"Do not trust a number the caller gives you, look up one that is known to be accurate – this can be found on an official website or correspondence you have received in the past."
To report one of these calls, ring Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. or click here. Alternatively contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
