KENT police are calling on trick or treaters to keep it fun and keep it safe in the run up to Hallowe'en which takes place on October 31.
The tradition of knocking on doors and asking for treats and playing a trick if refused has caused problems in the past, according to police spokesperson, Gianna Pollero.
She said: "We have no objection to kids having fun but we want it all to be done in the right way - no pressure and all in fun. Nothing too serious."
She added: "We want to advise parents to go along with younger children because older people feel better if adults accompany children.
"We don't want intimidation and we don't want serious consequences."
