People living on a housing estate say they were left without the internet for over 24 hours.
The broadband provider FibreNest serves all of the Mascalls Grange Estate in Paddock Wood but has been experiencing an outage.
Unconfirmed reports suggest around 375 homes were affected with some saying they had been without internet since Tuesday evening.
In a message to customers, FibreNest said its engineering team were “continuing their efforts” to restore the service.
Resident Sophie Kemp said it was the fourth time she has been without internet with the last incident occurring on December 28. This time, she had been without internet since 9am on January 7 but said it had been restored at around 7.15pm on Wednesday evening (January 8).
She said: “We yet again just passed the 24 hours mark with no internet.
“This leaves us residents in a situation where we are currently cut off with many losing days wages because phone signal is poor and working from home is not an option.
“As residents, we are feeling stuck and extremely frustrated.”
A spokesperson for FibreNest said: “We apologise to our customers for any disruption caused by the damaged fibre optic cable that serves Mascalls Grange.
“It was reported on January 7 and fixed the following day as our engineering teams prioritised this issue and worked through the night to restore the service despite the inclement weather.
“Customers did receive regular communication throughout this process although we understand the frustration that a loss of service can cause and are sorry for any inconvenience.”
