A West Kent brewery is one of 24 companies across the UK that has picked up an award for its products from the National Trust.

Westerham Brewery will now be able to use the Fine Farm Produce Award logo with its Little Scotney Pale Ale.

The ale met strict criteria to do with environmental and animal welfare standards and got through a taste test by a panel of judges.

The brewery, based on the National Trust’s Grange Farm in Crockham Hill, near Edenbridge, uses hops grown at Scotney Castle, hence the beer’s name.

The awards celebrate produce farmed, grown or processed on land owned or managed by the National Trust.

It is the second year in a row Westerham has won the award with the Little Scotney Best Bitter picking up the accolade six months ago.
