Wet weather caused delays on several roads around Maidstone this morning.

There was slow moving traffic on the M20 between j7 for Detling and j4 for Leybourne during rush hour due to poor visibility caused by surface spray.

As a result drivers are reported to be queuing for up to 15 minutes on the A249 at Detling Hill, heading into the town.

Kent Highways also warned commuters about slow moving traffic heading into Maidstone on the A249 Sittingbourne Road.

There were delays between Chiltern Hundreds Roundabout and Union Street until 10.30am.
