If you thought England would escape Euro 2008 fever just because the home team didn't qualify for the finals, then think again.
There are loads of people here who'll be rooting for teams out in Austria and Switzerland.
One of them is Feridun Yilmaz who hopes 2008 will be the year of Turkish delight.
We asked Mr Yilmaz, who owns international food shop Kent Food Centre, in Gabriel’s Hill, Maidstone, why he thinks English fans should support Turkey in the absence of their own team.
He joked: "You shouldn’t really ask why – it’s because they’re Turkish.
"They want the same thing as England," he added. "They're hungry and the coach has set up his team with young players. There are Premier League players in the team too."
He puts his case well but we doubt whether the Poles, French, Italians, Greeks or fans of any other Euro 2008 finalists would agree with his assessment.
