Ask most 11-year-olds the significance of November 11 and they probably won’t know.

Ask Becky Peckerill the significance of the date and she’ll have an answer – though maybe not the one you expected.

Becky is celebrating a very special birthday this year when she turns 11 on 11.11.11.

The Roseacre Junior School pupil, who was born just after 11am and who lives at number 11, is also celebrating having recently passed her 11-plus exam.

Becky said: “They said I was born at quarter past 11, but my dad thinks no one looked at the clock properly and I was actually born at 11 minutes past.”

And to mark the special birthday she will even be celebrating with 11 friends, including her two sisters, this weekend.

She said: “I never really had a lucky number before this year, but now with all the 11 things, I think I do now.
