BILL Williams has rejoined Maidstone United Football Club as general manager, 12 years after he quit the club to join Gillingham.
Williams, a former QPR and Gillingham player, has been working for the Stones on a freelance basis for the past four months. He takes on his new part-time position with immediate effect.
Stones chairman Paul Bowden Brown said: “We are delighted that Bill has agreed to be more involved, as his experience in football and business will undoubtedly increase the club’s prospects of attracting additional income.
“Bill will be working alongside me and be responsible for the day to day management, and particularly assisting with the new stadium project. I would stress that his appointment does not affect the position of team manager Jim Ward, who will continue to have full running over team affairs.”
