Police called to Maidstone’s FG Barnes Vauxhall after windows smashed

A former car dealership which closed its doors earlier this year has had its windows smashed.

The industrial estate site of the now closed FG Barnes Vauxhall was struck by vandals on Sunday night.

Pictures, taken by passer-by Sandy Turner, showed at least four smashed windows.

Glass at the site in Park Wood, Maidstone, can also be seen scattered across the floor outside.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 9am on Monday, October 9, to a report of criminal damage at a business premises in Sutton Road.

“It is alleged that several windows to the building were deliberately smashed.”

FG Barnes shut its doors to traders in Maidstone earlier this summer.

However, its remaining branches in Shoreham and Guildford remain open to customers.
