Police have questioned a woman following a report of vandalism in the town centre this afternoon.

The force received a call at 1.45pm informing them a window at the Chamber of Commerce, in Mill Street, had been smashed.

A woman has been interviewed by officers under caution.

Last night a man for allegedly damaging the front door of at Maidstone Police Station, in Palace Avenue.

Glass in the automatic door is cracked because of the incident, which happened at 11.15pm.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of cannabis
