A woman was taken to hospital after being detained on the roof of a shopping centre car park.

Officers were called to The Mall Chequers following concerns for her welfare.

The woman had been on a part of the roof not normally open to the public.

She was handcuffed and put in the back of a squad car, before being taken to hospital.

It happened shortly before 2.30pm.
