A woman found dead in her flat on Christmas Day was discovered with multiple stab wounds and a head injury, an inquest has revealed.
Police were called to Kentish Court off London Road, Maidstone at around 1.20pm after concerns for a child before finding the body of 19-year-old Parwin Quriashi lying in the kitchen of her flat.
Her husband, Mohammad Qoraishi, 27, was arrested in Dover and has since been charged with her murder.
He is awaiting trial - set to take place in June.
Neighbours said one police officer who arrived at the scene on the day was in tears leaving the apartment and had to be comforted by a colleague.
Other police and forensic investigators were seen at the address over the following week.
A post mortem report, read at the opening of the inquest into the death on yesterday, concluded that the cause of death was "complications of multiple stab wounds with blunt force trauma to the head and fluid asphyxial signs (pending histology and toxicology and analysis)."
Since her death former neighbours, near her former home in Allington, have expressed their shock and shared their memories of her as an "intelligent" young woman.
Concluding the hearing, coroner Bina Patel said: "I offer my personal condolences to the family and friends of Parwin Quriashi."
The full inquest has been adjourned until March, pending the criminal investigation.
