A WOMAN has paid tribute to her popular and well-loved husband who has died at the age of 74.
Former council worker John Kitcat, who lived all his life in the house where he was born in Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, died on February 16 in Maidstone Hospital.
His death came just two weeks after Tina Kitcat’s postman son, John Smith, 34, died after collapsing on his round.
Mrs Kitcat, 54, said: "It’s not been a good month for me. I haven’t had time to grieve for either of them.
"I miss both of them but I still feel as if they’re both here; it’s been so sudden."
Mrs Kitcat said her husband would be remembered as a fun-loving and caring man who welcomed all into his home.
She said: "People used to come here to see him and my son; they used to call it Kitcat’s bar."
His funeral will be held at Vinters Park Crematorium, Bearsted Road, Maidstone, on Friday, March 2 at 1.15pm.
