An 18-year-old girl had to be cut free by firefighters following a two car collision in Sandhurst on Monday afternoon. (July 8)

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to Queen Street’s junction with Spondon Lane at 3.45pm where they found the female trapped in her car.

Upon their arrival police officers closed the road for approximately 10 minutes to allow the fire crew time to cut off the car’s roof and free the young lady.

The female received treatment for neck and back pain at the scene before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital by the South East Coast Ambulance Service for further treatment.

The driver of the other car is not reported to have suffered any severe injuries.
