A woman has been rushed to hospital after the car she was in was involved in a crash.

Police were called to Loose Road, Maidstone, at 1.45pm and the A229 Loose Road was partially blocked in both directions.

Police remained at the scene this afternoon alongside paramedic crews.

The fire service were also alerted, however it says its crews were ultimately not required.

A police spokesman said: “This was a collision in Loose Road involving two cars, which was reported to us at 1.45pm.

“Police are currently at the scene, as well as fire and ambulance crews.

“A female driver is being taken to hospital.”

Traffic started easing at around 4pm.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
