If you and your friends fancy yourselves as the next One Direction or Little Mix now is your chance.

ITV show The X Factor is holding auditions at The Hazlitt Theatre in Earl Street, Maidstone, between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, April 30.

Groups or solo singers aged 16 and over can apply by just turning up.

Presenter Simon Cowell said: “We’re excited to start auditions again this year for The X Factor.

"If you think you’ve got what it takes then why don’t you apply? And remember, one audition could change your life.”

Boy band One Direction came third in 2010 and the following year Little Mix became the first group to win the show.

Other winners over the years have included Leona Lewis, Joe McElderry and Sam Bailey.

JLS, Olly Murs and Fleur East all came second and went on to have chart success.
