Yearly tradition takes to Maidstone's streets

A yearly tradition was upheld in Maidstone over the weekend, as the civic parade wound its way through the streets.

The parade left the town hall at 11am on Sunday where new mayor, Cllr Peter Parvin took the salute and arrived at All Saints at 11.30am.

The 36 Engineers exercised their freedom of the borough by marching in the parade and joining the service.

Cllr Parvin (Con) who represents the Leeds ward was confirmed as mayor at a council meeting last week and his deputy is Staplehurst councillor, Eric Hotson (Con).
