SHOPPERS in two Kent towns were surprised to meet a Road Safety Santa who looks exactly like Father Christmas...except for his bright yellow outfit.

He has been out and about distributing greetings cards and gift bags in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.

He was visiting with Kent County Council’s road safety team to warn alcohol and driving don’t mix.

The cards were a reminder about the consequences of drinking and driving, while the goody bags contained road safety messages.

Road Safety Santa said: “My cousin, Father Christmas, is very concerned about the number of people in Kent who have a drink then get behind the wheel. He has sent me to spread the word – don’t drink and drive – to shoppers.”
