Young cooks are being challenged to come up with their best recipes for the county’s finest produce.

The Kent Young Chef Award 2009 is a new cookery competition supported by the KM Group and launched by Produced in Kent, the champions of the county’s food and drink trade.

It is open to all students in year groups 7 to 11 who live or go to school in Kent.

What’s more, Ready Steady Cook chef Richard Phillips will be judging the finals that will be hosted by TV Art Attack’s presenter Neil Buchanan.
