DJ Zane Lowe has urged music fans not to miss out on the local talent at the Big Weekend.

Upcoming bands will be showcased at the Introducing Stage during the festival, in Mote Park, Maidstone, on Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11.

They will include two Kent bands, who will be chosen during the Fringe Festival - a week of gigs being held in the County Town in the build-up to the Big Weekend.

Zane said: "I look forward to this every year. Radio 1's Big Weekend is the start of the festival season and this year's line-up is definitive. And the new Introducing Stage is bang on. It will be one to remember."
