A takeaway in Maidstone which was handed a zero star hygiene rating last year has turned itself around.
Fantastic Chicken, which is found in Sandling Road, Maidstone, opposite the Miller & Carter steakhouse has now been given a four-out-of-five rating by inspectors who visited on November 2.
In November last year the fast food restaurant failed an inspection from the Food Standards Agency and was told it needed "urgent improvement".
It was given eight weeks by Maidstone council to improve or face permanent closure.
The food agency said improvement was necessary to ensure the hygienic handling of food at restaurant.
The cleanliness and condition of the building also needed improvement while there was an "urgent need" to ensure that checks were in place to guarantee that the food sold was safe to eat and that staff understood food safety.
A spokesman for Maidstone council said: "Following the visit, the proprietor was given eight weeks to make the necessary improvements."
The new rating now means that of 98 takeaways rated in the town, zero have the lowest rating possible and 64 have ratings of five.
