Tonbridge lost 2-0 at home to Boreham Wood on the opening day of the Skrill South season.

Angels' defending let them down at Longmead on Saturday with both goals avoidable.

Tommy Warrilow's side fell behind on 15 minutes with Matt Ball on target after Tonbridge lost possession on the edge of their own area.

Boreham Wood had chances to double the lead but Angels could have equalised early in the second half.

Mark Lovell played in Nathan Pinney but the summer signing's weak effort was easily saved by James Russell.

Boreham Wood added their second goal after 58 minutes, Ball on target from the edge of the box after Tonbridge failed to deal with a corner.

Angels play Eastbourne Borough away on Tuesday night.
