The Conference pulled out of 3G talks with Maidstone United this week but Oliver Ash says he'd put his house on the club winning their fight.

Conference chairman Brian Lee was due to meet with co-owner Mr Ash when he attended an FA representative match at the Gallagher Stadium on Monday night.

He withdrew from talks, to the frustration of Mr Ash, who is campaigning for 3G pitches to be permitted in the Conference.

The Stones co-owner remains confident the club will be in Skrill South if they win promotion from the Ryman League Premier Division and believes the law is on their side if necessary.

Mr Ash said: "I'm very confident that should we be promotable then we would be allowed in, as would any other club who wants 3G. I'd put my house on it.

"We have taken legal advice to find out whether blocking us might be illegal under English competition law.

"The information we have is that it's quite likely it would be deemed illegal.

"We have sent that information to the Conference and said that if we didn't receive a positive reply then we would consider requesting an FA tribunal to obtain justice by law."
