Maidstone United manager Jay Saunders calls on players to stand up and be counted

Jay Saunders believes a lack confidence is one of Maidstone's main problems.
It's only natural after 15 games without a win, a run United bid to halt at National League play-off contenders Boreham Wood tonight.
The manager feels his side haven't been far away in a lot of those matches, highlighting Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Barrow as an example.
The Stones had more than enough chances to win but confidence is fragile.
Saunders said: "Confidence - I think that's what it is.
"We're in a rut and only the players can get themselves out of it.
"We can keep asking things - I had a supporter going on at me about tactics - but we've had more than enough possession, we've tried two different formations, we've put a lot in their box and people haven't taken their chances.
"The players have got to stand up and be counted.
"We've got a lapse in us at the moment and it's something I'm trying to get out of us, hence why we've brought in new players."
Saunders is likely to give on-loan Wycombe defender Will de Havilland his debut at Meadow Park and should also have Alex Finney available.
That could mean Alex Wynter being used as a holding midfielder, a position he played at MK Dons in the FA Cup.
Blair Turgott can't play against his parent club while Andre Coker is out for two or three weeks with a tear in his thigh.
Confidence may be low but Maidstone will keep working hard.
Saunders said: "They're a good group in there.
"They're frustrated because, as I've said before, if we were getting battered by teams every week 3-0, 4-0, I would think, 'Do you know what, we're not good enough' but we're so close in games.
"They're an honest bunch in there and they'll keep going.
"All we can do is keep working hard and hopefully turn it around."
