New Maidstone United striker Frannie Collin expects to prove his worth in the Ryman League, Premier Division this season

Frannie Collin is confident he’ll live up to expectations at Maidstone United.

The prolific striker has twice won promotion from the Ryman League, Premier Division when his goals helped Dover to the title in 2009 and Tonbridge earn play-off success two years later.

He won the Conference South Golden Boot in 2012 and was linked with several clubs before joining Maidstone this summer.

Collin knows what it takes to do well and is backing himself to get the goals, having struck eight times in pre-season.

He said: “Scoring goals is a mental thing. If you have a little run where you don’t get a goal, it’s easy to sulk and let your head go down.

“When you’re on a run, the goals come easy. It’s when you go two or three without one that you’ve got to believe they’ll come.

“I’ve been signed to score goals. That’s what I’m here for and if I don’t do it, fingers will be pointed.

"It’s a little bit different being at a new club but I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
