Former Maidstone manager Harry Wheeler has been sacked by Billericay for the second time.

Wheeler was due to return to the Gallagher with Ricay on October 26 but that won't be happening after the Essex club announced his departure.

A statement on Billericay's website said: "We can now confirm that Harry Wheeler has been relieved of his duties and has left the club after a recent meeting with the owner.

"Differences of opinion have led to the decision and the owner feels changes needed to be made.

"Jamie O’Hara will take control of first team duties and will look to immediately make his mark by looking at bringing in some young talented academy players to add to the good experience we have.

"From all at the club we wish Harry all the best for the future and we thank him for all his efforts and successes in his time here."

Wheeler took charge at Maidstone a year ago, days after he was first axed by Billericay owner Glenn Tamplin.

A nightmare spell at the Gallagher lasted four months and Wheeler returned to the New Lodge after clearing the air with Tamplin.

Rumours about his position surfaced on Twitter last week and he was absent from Billericay's 2-2 draw at Oxford City on Saturday, with assistant boss and former Gillingham midfielder O'Hara left in charge.
