Maidstone have been handed a major boost before their FA Cup fifth-round tie at Coventry.
The Stones’ National League South home game against Weymouth has been postponed, giving them maximum time to prepare for the biggest night in their history.
The match was due to take place next Saturday, just two days before they face the Sky Blues in the FA Cup on February 26.
United appealed for a postponement after the Coventry tie was moved for live TV coverage.
And their wish has been granted, with both the league and opponents Weymouth backing the call.
The game will now take place on Tuesday, April 9.
Stones director of football Bill Williams said: “These FA Cup runs do not come along all that often and it’s taken our club more than 120 years to reach this stage of the competition.
“Our thanks go to the league and Weymouth for supporting the rearrangement and we look forward to welcoming Bobby (Wilkinson, manager) and his team to the Gallagher in the very near future.”
Coventry’s scheduled Championship fixture against Preston has been brought forward to Friday night.
