Maidstone are in the money after their FA Cup fourth-round tie at Ipswich Town was selected for live TV coverage.

The match at Portman Road will be shown on BBC1 on Saturday, January 27 (12.30pm), with each club receiving £110,000.

It’s more fantastic revenue for the National League South side who have already earned more than £230,000 in prize money from their run in this season’s competition.

They can also look forward to their share of gate receipts from what could be a capacity crowd of 30,000, while the winners of the tie land another £120,000.

The Stones’ third-round game against Stevenage was overlooked for TV coverage in the UK, although it was picked up by overseas broadcasters all over the world.

After drawing Championship high-fliers Ipswich on Monday, manager George Elokobi was hoping TV bosses would look upon Maidstone favourably.

Fowler excited for Ipswich return

“I’m hoping they are going to do right by us,” he said.

“I know there’s other football clubs involved but we’ve come this far and we missed the TV in the last round.

“Hopefully we’ll be on TV and the game can be broadcast to this country and abroad.”

Other matches selected for TV are: Friday, January 26 - Tottenham v Manchester City (ITV1, 8pm); Saturday, January 27 - Fulham v Newcastle (ITV4, 7pm); Sunday, January 28: West Brom v Brentford/Wolves (ITV1, 11.45am), Liverpool v Norwich/Bristol Rovers (ITV1, 2.30pm), Newport/Eastleigh v Manchester United (BBC, 4.30pm).
