Ibrahim Olutade’s missed penalty on Saturday didn’t go down well with Maidstone head of football John Still.

Olutade took United’s late kick at Hungerford even though Nana Kyei, who had already scored from the spot, was still on the pitch.

The Stones were 3-1 up with a few minutes remaining when Olutade was tripped in the box.

Determined to score his first Stones goal, he stepped up but his effort was comfortably saved.

It didn’t affect the result but Still wasn’t happy.

He said: “It’s not his job to take a penalty - it’s Nana Kyei’s job.

“I’ll speak to him Monday because it’s not his job, it’s not down to him to take a penalty. I’m not happy.

“Many years ago, I had a team, we were 3-0 up and we had a penalty.

"Someone who shouldn’t have taken it took it and missed and we drew 3-3.

“Nana Kyei took the penalty and scored so why isn’t he going to take the next one?

“If Nana Kyei says ‘I don’t want this’, it’s different.”

Head coach Hakan Hayrettin added: “The fella scored the first one, he wants to take the second one.

"That could be a vital moment in the game for us.”
