A late goal denied Maidstone victory but they ended their run of six straight away defeats with a 3-3 draw at Billericay on Tuesday night.

Jack Parkinson marked his return from a three-match ban with a double as United twice hit back from a goal down, then Zac Attwood gave them a 3-2 lead.

But Jay Saunders' men couldn't hold on and Geoff Mitchell scored Billericay's equaliser with just six minutes left.

Isaac Layne opened the scoring from a controversial free-kick on 11 minutes but United levelled on the stroke of half-time with Parkinson meeting Alex Flisher's corner.

Kieran Hughes-Mason and Attwood went close as Maidstone made a flying start to the second half before falling behind again on 61 minutes when a poor backpass from Jerrome Sobers gifted Layne his second.

Parkinson headed home another corner as United made it 2-2 on 72 minutes and three minutes later Jack Harris set up strike partner Attwood to give Stones the lead.

Maidstone introduced Dan Parkinson for Hughes-Mason as they looked to close out the game but Mitchell grabbed a point for the hosts.
