Andrew Jordan has praised his team’s approach to the all-new British Touring Car Championship suspension after completing his first test of the year at Brands Hatch today.
The former series champion will race a Ford Focus for the Wrotham-based Motorbase Performance squad in 2016 – and says he already feels comfortable with his car’s set-up.
He completed a full day of running in dry and sunny conditions at the West Kingsdown circuit, where he was joined by Motorbase returnee Mat Jackson.
Jordan told KentOnline at Brands today: “This is our first proper test with the new kit.
“This is our version of what it could be and we are in the ball park - I'm really happy with it for a first test.
“I'm very happy with everyone and it's all working well together.”
Jordan won the championship in 2013, but endured a tough campaign last year in an MG.
The 26-year-old added: “Having won the championship once, anything other than winning is a disappointment.

“I am here to try and win the championship - I am not interested in finishing second or third.
“It will be tough, it always is, and I am putting in a lot of work to stand a good chance.”
It was announced today that Jordan will partner Jackson in the Motorbase squad – the latter entering his seventh consecutive season with the team.
Team manager Oly Collins said: “As a driver pairing we couldn't ask for more.
“Today is our first test working on our set-up ideas and working towards the set-up for the start of the season.
“We are working on understanding the new suspension as it's quite similar yet very different at the same time.
“We want to be in a good position come the first race and to get some miles under our belt.
“We are now applying what we think will work with the suspension - it's about moving our ideas forward.”
The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season will start at Brands Hatch on April 2-3.
