Jamar Loza a doubt as Maidstone United go to Macclesfield

Maidstone won't rush Jamar Loza back from his groin injury.

In-form Loza missed Saturday's victory at Gateshead, a result that leaves Stones five points clear of the National League relegation zone with two games in hand.

They play the first of those at Macclesfield tonight (Tuesday) and with the side close to safety after a nine-match unbeaten run, they can afford to take their time over Loza.

The Good Friday trip to Wrexham might be more realistic for the Jamaica international, who's scored six goals in his last four games.

Stones boss Jay Saunders said: "There was no point, with a bad groin, in Jam sitting on a train all the way up to Gateshead.

"He wanted to come but he's not going to do himself any favours.

"That's a big three points because it might make you look and go 'OK, let's get him right for the game after rather than rushing him for Macclesfield'.

"We'll make a decision and we'll only involve him if he's 100%."

Macclesfield sit ninth in the table and Saunders said: "They're a good footballing side and it's a really tough place to go but we're on a good run and we've got a bit of belief."
