Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm says there are players he wouldn’t touch with a barge pole.

McKimm has been frustrated in efforts to strengthen his squad with loan signings.

But having worked hard to build a new side at Longmead, he’s not about to rush into anything.

McKimm said: “It’s difficult to get players in on loan. Clubs just aren’t letting people go at the minute.

“That might change as teams get knocked out of the FA Cup and start releasing players.

“You get players touted around who I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. No disrespect but I’m talking about people who have spent their careers moving clubs every couple of months.

“I want the right players here, players who want to earn the right to be here for the long haul.

“You don’t want to be chopping and changing the side and having to start from scratch all the time.”
