Maidstone United have added experienced keeper Jake Cole to their squad.

The 33-year-old, a former QPR youth, left the Shots at the end of the season

He never made a league appearance for the R's and had spells at Hayes, Wimbledon, Farnborough, Oxford United and Barnet.

A permanent move to Barnet was followed by stints at Plymouth, where he made 91 league appearances, Woking and then Aldershot in 2016.

His final game was against the Stones at the Gallagher Stadium at the end of the past campaign.

Speaking to the club's website, Cole said: “I felt the time was right for a fresh start. I can’t wait to get started alongside the new team they’re assembling.

“It’s shaping up to be a very competitive league next season.

"There’s some big names in that division and I am looking forward to the challenge and giving my all for the club."
