Jack Parkinson thinks Maidstone United have every chance of pulling off an FA Cup upset against his old club Welling.

Stones have been handed a home draw against Conference side Wings in the final qualifying round on October 25.

Ryman League Premier Division leaders Stones play two levels below Jamie Day's men.

But upsets happen in the FA Cup and United are desperate to reach the first round proper.

Midfielder Parkinson, who spent four years at Welling, said: "For me, it's a great draw. It's a winnable game but, that said, they are a good side.

"I still speak to Jamie Day (boss) and Dean Frost (coach) and I've already had Frosty on trying to wind me up.

"I watched them against Kidderminster on the telly the other night and they've got good players. They're not in the Conference for no reason.

"Jay, Frosty and Barry Ashby (assistant) have worked wonders there but we're at home, it's the FA Cup and we've got to think it's a winnable game.

"It does help when you're used to winning, like we are. It's a habit, as much as losing is, and I'd like to think we've got every chance.

"You need a bit of luck to beat a team two levels above you and you can't go into these games carrying anyone.

"You need 11 players on the ball and you have to hope the opposition aren't at full-tilt because they are Conference players for a reason.

"It's a local game, there will be a big crowd and I'm sure our supporters will be happy with the draw."
