A last-minute equaliser denied Maidstone victory at the Gallagher Stadium.

United looked set to take the points when Sam Corne finished Christie Pattisson's cross with 10 minutes remaining.

But visitors Wealdstone levelled at the death when Jack Cook struck.

The Stones handed a debut to left-back Ryan Galvin following his arrival on a two-month loan deal from League 1 club Sheffield Wednesday.

He added the defensive balance the Stones have been missing, allowing Gavin Hoyte to revert to right-back, and was one of the bright sparks for the hosts.

The 21-year-old got forward effectively, linking with the midfield and sending over a couple of nice crosses with what looks a more-than-useful left foot.

Hoyte looked happier on the right while there was a new central defensive pairing of George Fowler and Kodi Lyons-Foster, with Jack Cawley only on the bench and Joe Ellul not in the squad.

Maidstone got after Wealdstone in a bright start, Regan Booty looking to get on the ball and dictate play.

The hosts played some good stuff in the some visitors’ half early on, popping the ball about nicely, without creating a clear-cut chance.

They threatened to, several times, but, that final piece of the puzzle wasn’t there.

Wealdstone looked dangerous on the break a couple of times, carving out a decent chance when Stephen Browne sent a diving header over from Samuel Habergham’s cross.

Olufela Olomola blazed over for the visitors early in the second half, while Bivesh Gurung headed over at the other end.

The visitors were looking more threatening in the final third, able to pick their passes in and around the edge of the area at times, again without threatening Yusuf Mersin’s goal.

One such occasion, midway through the second half, ended with Cook making a mess of a header at the back stick, caught out by the pace on the cross.

An even better opening followed when Tarryn Allarakhia went through from David Sesay’s pass but, having done the hard work, he poked wide of the far post.

Maidstone replied with a chance of their own as August player-of-the-month Roarie Deacon was denied by Samuel Howes at the near post after breaking into the box.

And the breakthrough followed in the 80th minute with Pattisson alert to reach the byline and square to Corne, who swept the ball home from six yards.

Cook levelled in the last minute of normal time with a neat low finish in the box following a long throw as Wealdstone grabbed a point.
