Stuart Lewis has agreed a new deal with Maidstone United.
The Stones captain has committed for next season just days after it was announced defender Seth Nana Twumasi had also agreed new terms.
Lewis, 30, was jointly awarded the manager's player-of-the-season trophy. He is due to sign his new deal next week.
Boss Jay Saunders said: “He is consistent, he is captain, he’s a big character in the changing room and someone I wanted to keep.
"His work rate is second to none and he has that experience.
"I think he has enjoyed his time at the club and he wanted to stay. He's been excellent. He is settled here and I am delighted to get him onboard again."
Lewis first moved to the Stones in January 2017, on loan from Ebbsfleet United, making the move permanent towards the latter part of the season.
He was named supporters' player-of-the-year at the end of the 2016/17 season.
In January this year Saunders made him captain, with midfielder Lewis saying at the time: "The affiliation I’ve got with everyone at the club has been brilliant." He has played 65 games for the Stones so far.
