Maidstone United plan to upgrade facilities at Gallagher Stadium this summer

More than £50,000 will be spent on Gallagher Stadium improvements this summer, Maidstone United co-owner Terry Casey has announced.
The Loucas End will be extended to house an extra 100 supporters, while refreshment facilities and toilets will be added at the Henry Reeves and Co Stand end.
A family standing area will be created between the changing rooms and the main stand. The club will also build a new outside bar and club shop.
It’s hoped improvements will see the capacity increased from 2,226 to 2,500, subject to approval from local authorities.
United co-owner Mr Casey said: “We had a limited amount of money we could spend but we wanted to show we are listening to our supporters and also demonstrating we are not going to become complacent about the extraordinary support we have had in our first season back in the town.
“Despite the generosity of the Gallagher Group, Shepherd Neame and the former Bring the Stones Home association, these improvements will cost the club more than £50,000.
“I know that continuing to improve the facilities is an investment in the future of our club but we are also aware that we must continue to serve up football that entertains and excites and is successful, or the facilities will not be needed.”
