Captain Steve Watt is set to be fit for Maidstone's FA Cup tie at Wrexham - but he isn't guaranteed a start.

Centre-half Watt has been nursing a thigh injury that kept him out of United's first-round replay win over Stevenage.

He's also missed league games against Met Police and VCD.

Boss Jay Saunders expects him to be ready for Wrexham but may not risk further injury.

He said: "I think Watty will be OK. He had a scan on Monday. It's only a slight strain and he's had a rest.

"I don't know if he'll go straight back into the side at the minute.

"We've got the league to think about as well and we've got a massive game against Leatherhead on Tuesday.

"If playing him at Wrexham means he ends up missing the next four league games, I wouldn't take the chance.

"He knows how I feel about it but we'll have to see."

If Watt is fit, Maidstone should be at full strength for Saturday's second-round tie.

They will train at the Gallagher Stadium on Friday morning before making their way to their hotel in Chester.
