Team of the week is back for the 2021/22 season and, once again, we’re inviting you to vote for your star man.
With every division bar the National League back in action, there were plenty of top performances to choose from.
Have a look at our first XI of the new campaign and pick your favourite in our poll at the bottom of the page.
Folkestone made a flying start to the Isthmian Premier season, beating title favourites Worthing 3-1.
Two-goal Ian Draycott starred but our Invicta pick is keeper Tim Roberts, who saved a penalty with the game goalless.
Sheppey defender Ashley Sains scored the winner and celebrated a clean sheet as Sheppey beat Fisher 1-0 in Southern Counties East.
Jack Tucker was the pick of Gillingham’s busy backline in their 1-0 defeat at Plymouth, with boss Steve Evans hailing the young centre-half as a Championship player.
Margate captain Ben Swift was outstanding in their 1-0 Isthmian Premier win at Wingate, excelling alongside summer signing Lewis Knight in his natural left-sided centre-back position.
Cray winger Anthony Cook capped a fine display with two goals in their 3-1 Isthmian Premier win over Lewes as Danny Kedwell made a dream start to management.
Debutant Ahmed Abdulla immediately endeared himself to Sittingbourne fans by scoring a first-half hat-trick in a 4-0 Isthmian South East win against Lancing.
Brickies old boy Tommie Fagg also completed a hat-trick, with all his goals coming in the second half, as Ashford opened with a 3-1 victory over Burgess Hill.
Joan Luque marked his return to Maidstone with two goals as United twice came from behind to beat Hemel Hempstead 4-2 in National League South.
Dominic Poleon’s quickfire hat-trick led Ebbsfleet to a 5-1 derby victory over Tonbridge at Stonebridge Road.
He completed a 21-minute treble in the first half and departed to standing ovation.
Ramsgate took a point at Three Bridges thanks to Josh Ajayi’s double. He cancelled out the hosts’ opener before putting Rams in front in an excellent display.
Debutant Dan Roberts scored twice at the death as Dartford opened their National South campaign with 3-1 success at St Albans.
The summer signing met Connor Essam’s flick in the 90th minute and finished a one-on-one in added time.
Ebbsfleet manager Dennis Kutrieb is our top boss after his side’s first-half destruction of Tonbridge.
