Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow knows Saturday’s trip to play fellow strugglers Farnborough won’t be for the faint-hearted.

The pitch at Paddy Power Park is in a bad way and the sides are separated by just two points in the battle for Skrill South survival.

Outside the relegation zone only on goal difference, Angels do have two games in hand over Farnborough, so victory in Hampshire would be huge.

Warrilow said: “When you’re playing teams in the mix with you, the first thing it’s going to be is a battle.

“You’ve got to want to go to war to win a game of football. The shape, the patterns and the athleticism, the lads have got that but they’ve got to get that winning mentality too.”

Tonbridge drew 1-1 with Bath City at Longmead on Tuesday night. It was only their second home league game since October and Lee Browning’s 10th-minute free-kick was quickly cancelled out by a Henry Muggeridge own goal.

Browning is suspended for the Farnborough game but Tom Collins has recovered from illness and Chris Piper also returns to the Angels squad.

Tonbridge host Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night.
