Opportunity knocks at the door of Tonbridge Angels this weekend when they look to reach the FA Cup fourth qualifying round for the first time in six years.

A trip to St Albans, of the Calor League Premier Division, stands between Tommy Warrilow’s side and a potential tie with one of non-league’s big hitters.

Warrilow scouted St Albans in midweek and is not about to underestimate them but equally he senses the chance to go further in the competition.

He said: “If you look at the other teams who are in it, it could have been a lot worse. There is an opportunity here. It’s a tough game but it’s winnable.

“It’s somewhere different but we’ll go there prepared. We’re playing well at the moment, we’re creating chances and defensively we look OK.”

Among the Saints squad are ex-Welling defender Ben Martin, former Ebbsfleet midfielder Ram Marwa as well as Richard Graham, who had a spell with Dartford.

Warrilow said: “They’ve got experienced players at this level and the level above. I expect them to be a threat because they’ve got goalscorers in their side. They’ve got the lad John Frendo and Mark Nwokeji, who was at Dagenham.

“They mix it up and they’ve got two big lads who come up from the back but they like to play as well.”
