MAIDSTONE United will make an announcement about their proposed new ground “within 10 days,” according to club chairman Paul Bowden Brown.

The news comes a week after the club confirmed they had agreed a lease with the owners of the stadium site at Whatman Way and were on the verge of making a planning application.

The Stones first revealed plans to build a new ground on the riverside site back in September 2000.

But since then, the project has been beset by delays, leading many people to question whether it would ever be built.
