Maidstone face one of their biggest challenges of the season on live TV this weekend.
They’re off to play third-placed Aldershot in a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, with the match to be shown on BT Sport.
An injury-time equaliser from Josh Hare earned Maidstone a point at the Gallagher Stadium in August but manager Jay Saunders was in no doubt how good the Shots were that night.
He expects them to be equally attacking in front of their own fans at the Rec.
Saunders, who’s without Alex Finney (broken jaw) and Delano Sam-Yorke (knee), said: “They’re a very good side.
“I think they’re the best side who’ve come to the Gallagher this year.
“They play lovely football, there’s loads of pace around their side. It’ll be a real tough one.”
Maidstone, who are 12th, had gone four league games without scoring before Joe Pigott’s double at Dover.
It’s an issue that concerns Saunders.
He said: “If I’m being really harsh we’ve got to start finding goals from other areas.
“It’s no good relying on Joe all the time.
“It’s an area we’ve got to look at, we’ve got to bring goals to the side somehow.
“Everyone wants goalscorers and they’re not always easy to find.
“We’ve got to somehow get goals out of Jamar Loza, Zavon Hines and other people because that’s what they’re in the side to do, as well as create.”
