Charley Robertson set up four of the six goals in Maidstone’s League Cup win over Herne Bay on Tuesday night – now he’s joining Faversham on loan for a month.
Stones boss Jay Saunders announced the move to the Ryman League Division 1 South leaders after Robertson starred in United’s second-round victory at the Gallagher Stadium.
Saunders said: "He looked good tonight. He just needs a run of games. If we can get him sharp and where he needs to be, then great.
"The month he had on loan at Folkestone killed him. It put him back. He lost his place in the squad here and he needs to get playing."
Ironically, Robertson's first game for Faversham could be against Folkestone on Saturday.
Robertson worked his way to the byline and crossed for Mark Lovell, whose classy backheel put Stones in front against Herne Bay on 14 minutes.
Maidstone had their second goal four minutes later as Robertson exchanged passes with Aaron Simpson before feeding Bradley Jordan for a cross that was met by Alex Akrofi at the far post.
Stones went three up on 26 minutes, Robertson winning the ball in midfield and playing in Lovell whose strike went in off the bar.
Lively Ben Greenhalgh picked his spot for United’s fourth on 34 minutes after Simpson forced a mistake in the Bay defence.
And Alfie Kitt headed home the fifth from Bradley Jordan’s corner a minute before half-time.
United eased off after the break but remained in control.
They completed the scoring on 79 minutes when a foul on Harris Rodgers saw Robertson’s free-kick headed home by Richard Davies.
