The men in charge at Aylesford and Maidstone are expecting a lively game when the rugby clubs resume their rivalry.

Bulls host Maidstone at the Jack Williams Ground on Saturday, with the sides at opposite ends of London 2 South East.

The visitors are second after three wins in four matches following promotion, but Bulls are bottom after four defeats.

Aylesford coach Richard Garrett said: “It will be a hard fixture but the players are looking forward to the challenge. I’m hoping it will be an open game with lots of expansive rugby.”

Maidstone go into the game as favourites but coach Andy Foley believes Bulls are a talented side.

He said: “It should be a good day for Kent rugby with both sides going at it hammer and tongs. It’s a local derby and it’s good for both sets of players and fans.

“There’s always going to be some rivalry between local clubs, but I’m just interested in the points and a good league position.

“Aylesford are a good club and have done remarkably well over the last couple of decades.

“They’ve been a little unlucky with the fixures they’ve had so far but they’re always a tricky side to score against. I’m sure there’ll be a vocal crowd in too.”
