Michee Efete delivered on his promise in Maidstone's win against Barrow on Saturday.
Right-back Efete told manager Jay Saunders he would put in some crosses for Shamir Mullings and obliged by setting up the only goal.
The Stones practised crossing for an hour at training on Thursday, so Efete had his eye in.
The summer signing from Norwich played in a lovely ball which Mullings headed home after only six minutes.
Efete said: "I told Jay before the game I'm going to get some balls in there for Sham.
"I put in a great ball and he got a good head on it.
"He and Joe Quigley, they're probably going to be the biggest strikers in the league.
"We've got to get the balls in for them and, 100%, they will get us some goals.
"The practice was good. Sham was just in there, we were whipping balls in and he was heading them in, and it paid off today."
Efete was making his second start after beginning the season on the bench.
He said: "I'm a team player so whoever starts I'm happy as long as they win.
"I just waited to get my chance and the gaffer put me in.
"I've got to keep playing well to keep my place because we've got a lot of strong players in my position and positions around me."
Saunders has called on his full-backs and widemen to keep the supply coming.
He said: "We’ve got Joe Quigley and Sham. If you put balls in that box, they’re going to be a threat.
"One of the things I’ve been saying the last few games is I don’t think we’ve done it enough."
